Description

Plunge into the heart of ancient Greece on a day trip to Mycenae and Nafplio from Athens!

Your day will start with a departure from Athens towards the Peloponnese. You'll enjoy a stop at the famous Corinth Canal, a feat of engineering dating back to the XIXᵉ century.

You'll then continue on to Mycenae, an emblematic historic site of the Bronze Age. Accompanied by your guide, you'll discover this vast archaeological complex, once ruled by the legendary King Agamemnon. The remains of the citadel, royal tombs and Cyclopean walls bear witness to the wealth and power of this ancient civilization.

At lunchtime, you'll enjoy a meal in a local restaurant (if option chosen), perfect for regaining your strength before heading back.

The afternoon will be spent in Nafplio, a charming coastal city full of history. On a guided walk, you'll explore its cobbled streets and lively squares, and admire monuments such as the Venetian port, historic castles and the famous statue of Ioánnis Kapodístrias. You'll also discover the political importance of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece.

Your day will conclude with a return to Athens, rich in cultural and historical discoveries.
