Description

Set out to explore the Acropolis of Athens in the late afternoon and learn about Greek myths and heroes!

You'll meet your professional guide near the Acropolis in the late afternoon and begin the archaeological site tour, away from the crowds and scorching summer heat.

You'll tour one of the world's most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites and learn how so many Greek legends and myths are still embedded in contemporary times.
You'll gaze upon the Acropolis, the Theatre of Dionysus, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechteion, the Propylaea and the magnificent Parthenon, a universal symbol of democracy and the civilised world.

This tour will take you back in time and explain how Athens became one of the major cities of the ancient world and an emblem of Western civilization.

  • Validity: every day (except in exceptional cases)
  • Times: 5pm from May to September and 2:45pm from October to April
  • Departure: In front of Hadrian's Gate
  • Tentative Acropolis opening times: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm in summer (April - October)
     
  • This tour is not private, it is grouped with other participants (up to 15 participants)
  • When booking you will have the opportunity to choose the activity with or without the Acropolis entrance ticket - If you choose the option "entrance ticket not included" remember to bring enough to pay for it on the spot
  • If you choose the option "entrance ticket not included", please note that it is essential that you buy tickets for the archaeological sites in advance, as availability is very limited. Make sure you book the right time slot. The visit will not be reimbursed if you forget or make a mistake
  • Access to the Acropolis is free: for all on the 1st  Sundays of the month // Every day for EU citizens under 25 // Every day for non-EU citizens under 18 (valid identity card to be presented)
  • Access to the Acropole is free for all on March 3, March 6, April 18, September 28 and 29, October 28, November 3 and December 1.
  • Strollers, wheelchairs and backpacks are not allowed inside the Acropolis, and must be left at the south entrance
