Take a day to explore the banks of the Danube beyond Budapest. You'll get to visit the three atypical towns of Visegrad, Esztergom and Szentendre!
You'll depart by coach from central Budapest. Your first stop will be at Esztergom located on the border between Slovakia and Hungary. You'll visit Hungary's largest cathedral, St Adalbert's Cathedral, before venturing across the border to take in the views of the city.
You'll continue to Visegrád where you'll stroll through the town and discover the former Royal Palace and admire an unobstructed view of the Danube Valley.
On the way back, you'll stop at Szentendre, a charming little town filled with museums, art galleries and craft shops. Take a stroll through its narrow streets with your guide who will tell you all about the history of the town. You'll have some free time to immerse yourself in this town's unique ambience, visit one of the many museums, or do a spot of shopping.
You'll then return to Budapest by boat, so you can admire the scenery along the way.*
* The return to Budapest is by coach in winter, and by boat in summer (from May to September).
