Discover the highlights of the Eastern Algarve in one day, from Faro to Tavira!
Less popular with tourists, the eastern region of the Algarveis nonetheless charming thanks to its green countryside, traditional villages and remote beaches. You will join your guide in Faro, the region's capital, and walk through its 12th-century pedestrianised city centre. You will then take a bus to Olhão, one of the best towns in the country for eating fish, where you will explore the famous local market. You will then continue to the historic city of Tavira, located on the Gilão River and known for its cobbled streets, numerous churches (admission tickets not included) as well as the Roman bridge. You will visit the castle, which offers a panorama of the city. You will then enjoy a lunch break (lunch not included). Finally, you will travel to the fabulous village of Cacela Velha where you will observe the Ria Formosa, one of the most beautiful lagoons in Europe. You will be taken back to your accommodation after an excursion to the east of the Algarve.
