From Helsinki, explore Suomenlinna and the sea fortress!
Located on the waterfront and the capital of Finland, Helsinkiis a perfect blend of city and nature, the ideal place to get away from it all. After enjoying a transfer, you will begin your tour with your guide, visiting the city's must-see monuments such as the Olympic Stadium (created for the 1940 Olympic Games but eventually hosting the 1952 ones). You will also discover the statue dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, the Esplanade Park (located right in the city centre), the traditional 19th century market with local specialities as well as the famous Senate and Market squares. You will finish your exploration of Helsinki with the two cathedrals of the city. You will then enjoy a 30-40 minute lunch break (lunch not included). Finally, you'll take the ferry to Suomenlinna, an 18th-century sea fortress spread over six interconnected islands, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have the opportunity to go for a walk to enjoy the atmosphere of the islands and admire the most interesting landmarks, such as its church, its traditional houses and its prison. At the end of your visit, you will be taken back to Market Square by ferry.
