Visit Ávila and Segovia, two medieval cities in the Castilla y León region!
You'll depart in the morning from Madrid for a day tour of two of Spain's most beautiful historic cities.
Accompanied by your guide, you'll start with a visit to Ávila, a medieval city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, built in the 11th century to protect Spanish territory from the Moors. You'll discover its fully preserved wall and its many religious buildings. You'll visit the convent and museum of Santa Teresa and admire the exterior of the fortified cathedral dating from the Middle Ages, the Plaza Mayor and the Basilica of San Vicente. You'll be fascinated by Romanesque monuments and Gothic palaces.
Complement this excursion with a visit to Segovia, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Known for its 16 km-long Roman-era aqueduct, the city preserves one of Spain's most recognized medieval monument ensembles. During your visit, you'll also discover Segovia Cathedral, also known as the Lady of the Cathedrals, and the city's ancient Jewish quarter.
Depending on the option chosen, you'll visit the magnificent Alcázar de Segovia, a remarkable castle located in the old town, notably a source of inspiration for some Walt Disney films, and sample local specialties over lunch.
At the end of the day, you'll return to Madrid by bus.
