Accompanied by a guide, discover Comuna 13, formerly a high-risk neighbourhood in Medellin, which has become a popular tourist spot due to its colours and street art!
From your hotel, you will head to San Javier in the Comuna 13 district. Formerly one of the poorest and highest risk neighbourhoods in Medellin, it is now one of the most visited places in the city. You'll see a lot in this neighbourhood: how street-art culture has taken hold with many examples of graffiti and colourful paintings on the walls of the houses.
These changes have allowed the neighbourhood to make a fresh start and forge a new identity, moving away from the crime and gangs that were present in the past. You will then take the 385-metre escalator, which is a necessary transport system for the residents of Comuna 13 and very popular with tourists.
Throughout your tour, your guide will tell you in detail about the meaning of the graffiti and the history of this neighbourhood. You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of your tour.
