Description

Leave for a cultural and historical tour of the Normandy landing beaches of 1944 from Paris by coach !

You will explore one of the most visited historic regions of France on this tour of the 1944 Normandy landing sites, this tour takes you in key historic sites and brings the past to life.

Between June and August 1944, this region was the stage of the Battle of Normandy, which enabled the Allied forces to open a second front against German soldiers in Europe.

You'll leave Paris in the morning by comfortable coach, where you'll be able to observe the Normandy countryside on the way to the landing beaches.

Your first stop will be at the most famous of the D-Day landing beaches, Omaha Beach. On the morning of June 6, the Americans stormed this 6-kilometer long beach and faced formidable, heavily-equipped German defenses. The damage was considerable, but a small group of soldiers managed to neutralize the Germans with the help of the British army's air force, the Royal Air Force.

You'll also discover the Saint-Laurent American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer, overlooking Omaha Beach, erected in honor of the American soldiers who fought and died in the Battle of Normandy.

You'll then stop off at Arromanches, an Allied man-made port, where you'll be free to have lunch and explore the area on your own.

Your day's excursion ends at Juno Beach, one of the main beaches captured by the Canadians during the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944, and its cemetery, before heading back to Paris.
