Your cruise begins in Berthier-sur-Mer, on the south bank of the St. Lawrence, about 50 km from Quebec City. Embark on a journey to Grosse Isle on board the Vent des Îles, a 24-metre-long boat. Take advantage of this boat ride to discover the St. Lawrence River and admire the landscapes of Quebec.
After about 45 minutes, you'll arrive at Grosse Isle and explore this former quarantine site for immigrants arriving via the St. Lawrence river that opened in the 1840s.
Explore the sights of the island with a 'Parks Canada' guide (tour in French and English) and then enjoy some free time to wander around at your own pace. On the agenda: 'meet nurse Sarah Wade', the memorial, the Celtic cross, the Irish cemetery.
You'll then set off again aboard the Vent des Îles towards Berthier-sur-Mer.
