Description

Discover the frozen Jökulsarlon lagoon and other sites during this day trip to the Island's southern side, departing from Reykjavik!

Departing from Reykjavik, join your guide and board the bus. You will head towards the southern coast of the island to discover Jökulsarlon lagoon as well as the Vatnajokull glacier.

During the trip, you will pass by many volcanoes, such as Hekla, Eyjafjallajökull, Vestman Islands, Katla and Öræfajökull. You will also see the Langjökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Vatnajökull glaciers, and the Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Systrafoss waterfalls.

There will be many stops along the way, such as at Skogafoss, Diamon Beach, or Reynisdrangar (3 stone mountains that poke out from the ocean).

There will also be an optional boat trip during the stop at the lagoon. Here, you can see filming sites used for movies such as Batman Begins, Tomb Raider, or James Bond.

Options

During reservation you will be able to choose either a hotel pickup or meeting at the main departure point.

If you have opted for the hotel pickup, the exact time and location will be confirmed after reservation

Good to know

Availability: Wednesday and Saturday, excluding exceptions

Departure time: between 7am and 8am, depending on the pick-up spot; will be confirmed after reservation

The option with boat tour is available until october only

The trip is expected to return to Reykjavik at around 10om

Departure: Either the main pick-up spot at the Reykjavik bus terminal or at your hotel in Reykjavik. 

Visitors are advised to bring warm, waterproof clothing
