Description

Discover the largest alpine lake in the United States on a 3 day/2 night camping trip! 

Located on the California-Nevada border, Lake Tahoe is the perfect place for hiking in the mountains and relaxing by the water.

During the day, you can choose between a kayak tour and a hike. In the evening, watch the beautiful sunsets over the sparkling lake and try your luck at blackjack. 

Your expert guide will accompany you throughout your stay.

Day 1: From San Francisco to the south of Lake Tahoe
Depart from San Francisco in the early morning.
Cross Sacramento, the California state capital, and head to the Sierra Nevada.
Lunch in Placerville, a historic mining town.
Hike through a vast pine forest to get a view of Lake Tahoe.
Set up camp.
Dinner and evening around the campfire.  

Day 2: Full day at Lake Tahoe
Breakfast. 
Morning: kayaking on the lake and/or hiking in the mountains.
Afternoon: head to Heavenly Valley, a famous ski resort near South Lake Tahoe. Your choice of activity: shopping or a cable car ride up the mountain.
Dinner and evening in Stateline, a town known for its many casinos. Enjoy a champagne cruise on the lake if it takes your fancy! 

Day 3: Lake Tahoe to San Francisco
Breakfast.
Drive to Emerald Bay State Park for some must-see views of the lake.
Your choice of activity: hike through the heart of the reserve or go kayaking on the lake.
Discover Vikingsholm, the famous 38-room Scandinavian mansion completed in 1928.
Return to San Francisco in the evening via the historic Pony Express route, which was once a path for delivering post quickly through the region, and the impressive El Dorado National Forest.

  • Availability: Sundays from June to September (except in exceptional circumstances)
  • Depart from: Hilton Union Sqaure, San Francisco
  • To participate in this activity, you'll need to show your ID
  • Some activities may be cancelled due to bad weather or road closures. Our local tour operator will do their best to set up comparable activities if the ones originally planned aren't available during your stay
  • You'll travel by minibus: 14 passengers maximum
  • The hikes will be adapted to the level of each participant
  • 5 meals are included during your stay (Day 1: dinner/Day 2: breakfast and lunch/Day 3: breakfast and lunch). Any other food will be at your own expense
  • Activities are available for an additional fee: kayaking, paddleboarding, cable car rides, lake cruise
  • You'll arrive back in San Francisco around 8:30 - 9 pm
  • The modern campsite has all the necessary amenities:
    - Showers with hot water (don't forget your towel and toiletries)
    - Toilets
    - Tents and sleeping mats
    - Gas stove and cooking utensils
    - Campfire
    - Sleeping bag rental (additional charge)
