Discover the Cejar and Tebinquinche lagoons and the Ojos del Salar near San Pedro de Atacama!
Departing from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama accompanied by your guide, set off towards the Ceja and Tebinquinche lagoons in the Atacama Desert, which is situated 20 kilometres from San Pedro de Atacama. Once you arrive at your destination, you'll see the stunning Cejar lagoon with turquoise waters. It is located in the middle of the Salar de Atacama, a vast plain of salt-rich soil. The water is also very salty, so the animals float around effortlessly. Take in the stunning views of the Andes and the Licancabur volcano.
You'll then visit two round freshwater lagoons that are sitting side by side. This is why they're called the Ojos del Salar, 'the eyes of the salt flat'. You can even enjoy a dip in the deep waters of these lagoons. Next, head on to the Tebinquinche lagoon. This lagoon is just a few centimetres deep and was formed by centuries of ice and wind. Enjoy a drink while admiring the reflection of the mountains in the lagoon and taking in the beautiful sunset, full of yellow hues and intense tones.
As a magical day comes to a close, you'll set off back to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
